Bachelor in Agronomy

Course Objectives

The Degree in Agronomy aims to train higher technicians with vast technological and scientific knowledge in the elementary principles of agricultural sciences, enabling them to carry out activities and tasks in the field of agronomy, guaranteeing the social, economic and environmental sustainability of agricultural companies, having present the Sustainable Development Goals. Undergraduates should be able to analyze issues related to the production of quality goods and services, without neglecting sustainable development, aiming at close collaboration between the agricultural environment and society, maintaining the integrity of ecosystems in a perspective of rational management of resources , namely soil and water, considering cohesion and territorial development

Access Conditions

General entrance exams: one of the following: (02) Biology and Geology or (07) Physics and Chemistry or (02) Biology and Geology and (16) Mathematics.
Special competitions: transfer, course change, test for people over 23 years old, holders of Technological Specialization Course diplomas, holders of Higher Professional Technical Course diplomas.

Learning Objectives

The objective is to provide a solid theoretical and practical training, which allows training professionals capable of working in the various aspects of the agricultural sector, incorporating in them the relationship between agriculture and the environment, industry, commerce, services, food and rural development. They should be able to analyze issues related to the production of quality goods and services, without neglecting sustainable development, aiming at close collaboration between the agricultural environment and society, maintaining the integrity of ecosystems. Graduates are qualified to plan, manage and execute activities at the farm level and to ensure planning in the agricultural area at regional and national level through activities to support agri-food and rural development. They are qualified for progression to advanced studies in the field of agricultural sciences, agricultural management and economics and rural development and for the exercise of the profession

Access to Superior Studies

The bachelor’s degree will give access to the master’s degree and the doctoral degree in accordance with the legal framework for higher education degrees and diplomas, as set out in Decree-Law 74/2006 of March 24.
