Sustainable and Regenerative Crop Production Systems

Teaching Methodologies

To achieve the objectives of the course unit and the competences expected from the students, the learning process is based on:
1. theoretical and practical lectures in which the teacher transmits theoretical concepts, followed by practical application by the student;
2. Accompanying the development of a group work on the technical itinerary of a culture or a production system of a farm; and a proposal for the resolution of some problem introduced by the actors involved in the agricultural sector, the work will be presented and discussed in class;
3. Study visits or invitation to the actors involved in the area will be carried out whenever possible.

Learning Results

1- Understand the concept of sustainability and the interconnection between production and food systems from a national to global scale, taking into account factors: cultural, social, environmental and economic;
2- Knows the genesis and distinguishes Agriculture: Traditional, Conventional, Protection and Integrated Production, Biological, Organic, Ecological, Biodynamic, Natural, Regenerative, Conservation, Agroecological and Agroforestry Systems of Succession.
3- Describes agricultural practices at farm level, including agroecological management, principles and practices used to reduce environmental degradation.
4- Knows the agri-environmental policies used to keep farmland in production as well as the integration of agricultural priorities at the urban-rural interface.
5- Knows the legislative standards applied relating to AB, rules of Integrated Protection and Production, codes of good agricultural practices and certification systems.

Program
