Course Objectives
Phage therapy, recently approved in Portugal, uses lytic bacteriophages for therapeutic application, as an alternative or in combination with antibiotherapy.
This course aims to focus regulatory and ethical challenges associated with the quality control and safety of phage preparations, and the development of protocols for personalized phage formulations.
Access Conditions
Students in the 4th year of The Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences or Pharmacy at the Coimbra Health School (ESTeSC-IPC), as well as holders of The Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences or Pharmacy who are master’s degree students taught by ESTeSC-IPC, can apply for this Micro-credential.
