Course Objectives
The creation of this Micro-credential aims to enrich the training of CBL students by providing a set of practical tools that allow them to apply and deepen their knowledge related to cell and tissue culture applied to biomedical research. These elements are essential to ensure excellent performance in laboratory practice, while simultaneously promoting the quality and efficiency of the results obtained.
Access Conditions
Students in the 4th year of the bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences of the Coimbra Health School (ESTeSC-IPC), as well as holders of the degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, who are students of the Master’s course taught by ESTeSC-IPC, can apply for this micro-credential.

Learning Objectives
This training will enable you to:
– Perform basic procedures in cell culture, ensuring good laboratory practices.
– Solve problems arising from the methodology applied in cell culture.
– Apply biosafety principles and identify techniques for cell immortalisation and establishment of primary cultures.
– Select appropriate methodologies for research, such as fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, genetic editing, and immunohistochemistry, as well as choose statistical tools for experimental data analysis.
