Teaching Methodologies
To achieve the goal of the curricular unit and provide validation of skills, the learning process is based on: case studies and tools that lead the student to analyze each case, draw conclusions and make decisions; practical application of theoretical concepts; bibliographical research.
Learning Results
– Identify and collect quantitative data relevant to the case study.
– Select appropriate statistical analysis techniques to describe the available data.
– Numerically and graphically organize the results of the use of different statistical methodologies.
– Correctly interpret numerical and graphic results.
– Use data analysis programs.
Program
Module 1 (60%):
1) Descriptive statistics.
2) Elementary probability theory. Discrete and continuous one-dimensional random variables. Most common theoretical distributions: discrete and continuous.
3) Hypothesis tests for a population parameter.
Module 2 (40%):
4) Simple linear regression.
5) Analysis of variance.
