Project Organisation and Analysis

Teaching Methodologies

To achieve the course objectives and support the development of the intended competencies, the teaching-learning process combines several methodologies:

  1. Guided exposition to introduce key project management concepts and basic planning and control tools.
  2. Exercises and case studies, applied to biotechnology-related contexts.
  3. Participatory activities, including critical project analysis, discussion of real challenges and collaborative problem-solving.
  4. Practical work and guided research, culminating in a simulation of project monitoring/follow-up, enabling integrated application of the course content.

Learning Results

This course aims to equip students with fundamental project management skills applicable to laboratory, industrial, R&D and biotechnology contexts. By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  1. Understand the concept of a project, its life cycle, and the requirements of professional project management.
  2. Plan, structure and schedule a project, defining objectives, resources, tasks, responsibilities and deliverables.
  3. Apply basic monitoring and control techniques, interpreting deviations and proposing corrective measures.
