Teaching Methodologies
The teaching and learning methodologies are based on work-based learning in a real professional context, integrating the student into supervised and progressively autonomous activities. Active learning practices are emphasised, such as participation in laboratory/business tasks, problem-solving, the development of small projects, and guided consultation of technical and scientific documentation. Continuous supervision is ensured through regular meetings with both the host institution and academic supervisors, fostering critical reflection and adjustment of the learning trajectory. At the end of the placement, the student prepares a technical-scientific report on the work undertaken, which is subsequently defended before a panel.
Learning Results
During the Professional Internship, students are encouraged to:
Apply and consolidate the knowledge acquired throughout their programme of study in a real work environment, taking part in the practices and procedures of host organisations in the field of Biotechnology.
Identify and select R&D institutions or companies (national or international) that are appropriate to their academic and professional pathway.
Develop a range of skills, such as autonomy, teamwork, and the ability to communicate clearly in a professional context, both orally and in writing.
Program
The internship programme is designed to introduce students with the appropriate qualifications and motivation for various areas of biotechnology to the host institution, enabling them to participate in projects aligned with its strategic objectives. The main aim is to provide students with the opportunity to enhance their existing scientific and technical skills within a professional setting.
1. Integration into the host organisation and familiarisation with its activities.
2. Participation in technical and/or laboratory tasks in Biotechnology.
3. Application of research methodologies and data analysis.
4. Development of transversal skills (communication, organisation, teamwork).
5. Preparation of the final report, presentation and discussion of the work carried out, and reflection on the overall experience.
