Anatomy and Physiology of Animals I

Base Knowledge

The student must have knowledge of biology, chemistry and English language of the secondary level.

Teaching Methodologies

1. Theoretical descriptive exposition;

2. Practical class by projection of examples of different types of visceral tissue cells – Respiratory, Blood, Digestive, Urinary, ETC, Skin and Muscle

3. Practical demonstration classes with skeletal models of animals, bones and handling of muscle tissues;

4. Bibliographic research and analysis of articles and reports on the contents of the UC.

Learning Results

1. Know the exterior of the animal, the structure of the cells in skin and the attachments, and mammary gland with an interspecies overlook.

2. To know the general musculoskeletal organization, that of posture and stance, and its deficiencies, the anatomical structure of the animal pelvic region and its links to the birth process.

3. Know the physiology of the skin, bones, joints (ex. physiology of synovial structure), muscle, the ossification process and calcium metabolism.

Program

1) Introduction to anatomy, animal exterior, cell structure and physiology and tissues:
