Learning Results

To observe or perform basic techniques related to animal production, within the activities developed in the livestock farm of ESAC or preferably through visits to livestock farms with performance that deserves visiting. Students should acquire basic management knowledge and skills in:

-Equine production
-Goat production
-Rabbit production
-Sheep production
-Other

Program

Visit to livestock farms or animal production units of the ESAC in order to participate in the tasks that are being carried out or close observation of these in case the direct participation of students is not possible. Visit to several livestock farms or animal production units of the ESAC will take place and will be promoted among the following areas:
-Poultry production
-Beef production
-Dairy production
-Equine production
-Goat production
-Rabbit production
-Sheep production
-Other

Grading Methods

 
Continuous assessment will be based on attendance (A) and the average performance (D) of the tasks on the ESAC farm and the average assessment of the “n” study visit reports (R).
 
When there are tasks to be carried out (typically when the lesson takes place in the ESAC farm), the assessment of this performance will be made in the individual lesson and the average will be calculated as the sum of the performance marks divided by the total number of lessons in the ESAC (15-n).
 
When a study visit takes place outside the ESAC, the evaluation ( R ) will be based on the sum of the report grades divided by the number of visits (n). The report can be written individually or in groups (groups may not have more than three members) for each visit.
 
The number of study visits (n ) will only be known at the end of the semester.
 
The following formula will be applied for continuous assessment (CA):
 
               CA = 0.6A+ 0.4 [D(15-n)/15] + 0.4 [R(n)/15].
 
All students with an CA >= 9.5 are exempt from the exam. 
 
As this is a practical sylabus, the examination takes place over four days with 7.5 hours of work per day, under the supervision of the lecturer at the ESAC farm.
 
The final assessment (AF) is based on the hours of actual work (H) and the performance of the tasks (T):
 
AF = 0.6H+0.4T
