Farming Activities

Elementary knowledge of agricultural activity.

Active participation in tasks related to the practice of the profession.
Integration into work teams of professional character or in a laboratory or experimental work field. Bibliographic search and analysis of publications on the contents of the UC.
Students of special procedures, which is not able to meet the minimum number of required presences is provided the opportunity to make an equal number of hours of work with performance assessment, outside the normal classroom time but date not exceeding the first day of the normal examination period of the semester.

Perform basic techniques related to agricultural and livestock production, as part of practical activities in agriculture, livestock farm, in the experimental fields or in laboratories of the ESAC

1. Field crops, fruit crops, vegetable crops, herbs, culinary plants, medicinal plants and vines.
2 Operation and maintenance of farm machinery
3 Pastures, fodder and other feed products.
4­ Poultry, cattle, goats, horses, sheep and farmed leporidae.
5­ Composting, waste and effluent management.
6. Other activities in support of agricultural and livestock production.

The continuous assessment will be based on the class attendance and work performance:

1. Class participation - 35%
2. Appreciation of the work performed - 65%

The evaluation in exam will be done through an individual work plan agreed with the person in charge of the UC, in which each student fulfills the minimum number of hours of work foreseen, during the period in which the exam phase takes place or in the break time, never exceeding the last day of the examination period for which he/she presents himself.

The assessment will be based on the agreed plan and depends on:

  - Work performed - 65%

  - Attendance - 35%
