Training Placement

The professional internship is a terminal course of the study plan for which it is recommended to have basic knowledge of all the courses of the degree’s study plan.

The internship work will be supervised by two supervisors. An external supervisor, belonging to the company/institution where the internship period will take place, and an internal supervisor, a teacher at ESAC. Both supervisors will play an active role in supporting the student’s work and in preparing the final internship report.

1. Complementing Academic Education

1.1. Consolidate and complement the knowledge acquired throughout the undergraduate degree, providing a practical experience that enriches theoretical learning.
1.2. Develop critical and reflective thinking regarding the subjects covered during the academic journey.

2. Exposure to Professional Reality

2.1. Familiarize oneself with the work environment and understand the dynamics of the professional market.
2.2. Gain practical experience and adapt to different organizational contexts.
2.3. Develop interpersonal and professional skills essential for integration into the job market.

3. Application and Integration of Knowledge

3.1. Apply the knowledge acquired in undergraduate courses to concrete and challenging situations.
3.2. Develop the ability to analyze and solve problems independently and innovatively.
3.3. Integrate different fields of knowledge to create effective solutions in a professional context.

4. Development of Personal and Professional Skills

4.1. Enhance the ability to work both in a team and independently, promoting collaboration and responsibility.
4.2. Improve oral and written communication skills, with particular emphasis on preparing and defending technical and/or scientific reports.
4.3. Develop organizational, time management, and information synthesis skills for the effective presentation of results before an evaluation panel.

This course has no syllabus since what is intended is the application of the syllabus of the other curricular units of the degree.

If, for the work to be developed by the student, subjects not yet covered are necessary, the student will be guided in this direction by the teacher responsible for monitoring the student’s work (internal supervisor).

In addition to the work performed during the internship, the student must prepare a final report and make an oral presentation before a jury. 

The jury will consist of a president, the teacher who supervised the student's work, and another teacher or guest who will examine the final internship report.

The evaluation of the professional internship has three components.

Component 1 (C1): Evaluation of the oral presentation of the work and public discussion 

Component 2 (C2): Evaluation of the written report

Component 3 (C3): Evaluation by the company/institution of the internship

The final grade is calculated using the following equation:

Final grade = 0.30 × C1 + 0.40 × C2 + 0.30 × C3
