Anatomy and Physiology of Animals

In order to achieve the objectives of the curricular unit, the teaching methodologies are based on:

1. In the lecturer’s presentation of contents related to the theoretical aspects of this course

2. Study visits to ESAC’s livestock and other agricultural holdings in the region

3. Viewing of videos on the subject.

4. Oriented bibliographic research on important topics for UC.

This course aims to provide students with general knowledge concerning species and breeds used as farm animals, animal production systems and husbandry practices and factors affecting animal production and animal product characteristics.

Continuous evaluation

The UC assessment is based on two assessment instruments:

• A written theoretical assessment (50%)
• three practical reports carried out throughout the semester (50%), on practical topics covered in the curricular unit.

A student will be approved when he / she obtains the final classification of the UC equal to or higher than 9.5 values after weighting the assessment instruments acording to the formula:

final classification = 50% x (average classification on the two theorical tests) + 50% x (average classification on the three practical reports)

Assessment by exam

• Exam evaluation will consist in a written test, and a practical evaluation.
