Imagiology

Prior approval is recommended for the disciplines of Animal Anatomy and Physiology I and Animal Anatomy and Physiology II.

1. Descriptive exposition.
2.  Demonstration by teachers of imaging techniques, in practical application classes.
3.  Possibility for students to practice positioning and imaging techniques previously presented by teachers.

The learning objective of this Curricular Unit includes the knowledge of the different techniques used as auxiliary diagnostic means, namely radiology, ultrasound, computed axial tomography, magnetic resonance and scintigraphy.

Continuous evaluation

During the semester, two assessment instruments will be carried out (T1 and T2). The first will be held in the middle of the semester and will assess the material covered up to that moment and will consist of a written test (TE1) and a pratical test (TP1), both with the same percentage (50%) of T1 . The second will be held at the end of the semester and will evaluate the second part of the subject, again with a TE2 and a TP2, with the same importance in the final value of T2.

 The student is approved by continuous assessment, when he has met the minimum amount of attendance in classes (75% for each type of class) and cumulatively with the following conditions:

1. classification of each of the assessment instruments (T1, T2) greater than or equal to 7.5 values;
2. weighted average of the ratings of each assessment instrument equal to or greater than 9.5 values, according to the following formula (T1+T2)/2 ≥ 9.5.

Final exam assessment

 In the final exam, the student will take only one test that evaluates the entirety of the taught material.

 In the case of having obtained a result equal to or greater than 7.5 in some of the assessment instruments previously carried out (T1 or T2), the student is exempted from being evaluated in that subject in the exam and will only be evaluated in the missing subject. In case the student has completed both assessment instruments throughout the semester (T1 and T2), with results equal to or greater than 7.5, but unable to obtain a final average of 9.5, the student may choose to take the complete final exam or just one of the parts.
