Teaching Methodologies

The development of the theoretical component is carried out using the expository method and presentation of specific materials, using participatory strategies of exposure and practical examples, as well as the possible use of videos, PPTs, and documentaries, to complement the information on the topics in question;

The organization of seminars with guest speakers and study visits is also to be considered. The development of fieldwork, using the techniques covered, involving observation and discussion of the class, is part of the practice of UC, forcing the student to structure and apply the knowledge acquired in situations with their applicability.

Learning Results

Know the mechanisms that act on the seed from its formation to germination.
Know the technologies needed to produce seeds with genetic, sanitary and physiological quality,
sanitary and physiological quality.
Understand the importance of plant propagation.
Know the main methods and techniques of propagation, main infrastructures used in plant propagation.

Grading Methods

Continuous assessment

The course is assessed by means of a written test and a practical component (consisting of two assignments with equal weighting).
Final classification = Test 50% + Practical component 50%.
A student will be approved when he/she has fulfilled the minimum attendance of 75% in classes and has obtained an average weighted classification equal to or greater than 9.5 (on a scale from 0 to 20).

Assessment by examination

Written exam, in which the student passes with a mark of 9.5 or higher.
