Base Knowledge
In order to a,chieve the objectives of the U.C and confer the componences provided to the student, the learning process is based on cases studies, accompanied by a set of instructions and statistical / computer tools that lead the student to analyze each case and draw conclusions; in the execution of practical works of application of theoretical concepts; in the bibliographic reseearch necessary to complement the information obtained in class.
The exhibition will be made using Microsof Excel, Word and Power Point, and Google Docs.
Teaching Methodologies
Classes will be theoretical-practical. An expository methodology will be used for the presentation of theoretical concepts that will be exemplified with concrete situations of reality. The exhibition will be made using “Power Point” presentations.
Several sheets will be made available on the contents taught, resolved in classes and other supplementary information for resolution at home.

Curricular Unit Teachers
Elisabete Dinora Caldas de FreitasGrading Methods
The conditions for admission to assessment and approval in this course unit are those stated in the "Regulamento Académico dos Cursos Técnicos Superiores Profissionais da Escola Superior Agrária de Coimbra do Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra" available at http://www1.esac.pt/alunos/regulamentos.php, particularly regarding minimum attendance requirements in different assessment periods and the minimum final grade required for approval (equal to or greater than 9.50 on a scale of 0 to 20).
Continuous or Periodic Assessment
Mandatory: Students must meet the minimum attendance requirement for practical classes, as stated in the current Academic Regulations.
Three assessment components (each scored from 0 to 20):
Two tests (T1 and T2), each weighted at 45%
In-class Participation (PP), weighted at 10%
Final Grade:
The final grade (on a scale from 0 to 20) is the weighted average of the three assessment components:
0.45 × T1 + 0.45 × T2 + 0.10 × PP, rounded to two decimal places.
The student passes if the weighted average is equal to or greater than 9.50.
Final Exam Assessment (regular and other periods)
Mandatory: Students must meet the minimum attendance requirement for practical classes, as stated in the current Academic Regulations.
The final exam grade is obtained through a practical computer-based exam. The exam is divided into parts corresponding proportionally to the two tests taken during the course (T1 and T2).
Students who did not pass through continuous or periodic assessment may, if they wish, be exempt from one part of the final exam, provided the following conditions are met:
a) The grades of the frequency tests (T1 or T2) taken during the same academic year are equal to or higher than 7.50;
b) Attendance was equal to or greater than 75% of the classes taught.
Assessment scores are only valid for that academic year. It is not possible to reuse a grade obtained (T1 and/or T2) in a previous academic year.
Grade Improvement Exam
The grade in the improvement exam is obtained through a practical computer-based exam, identical to the final exam.
In the improvement exam, previously obtained grades cannot be reused.
