- To organize, analyze and interpret statistical data.
- To choose and apply appropriate basic statistical methods for data analysis.
Program
- Descriptive statistics. Data types and presentation. Measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion.
- Probabilities.
- The normal distribution.
- Hypothesis testing for the mean of a sample.
- Hypothesis test for the mean of two samples.
- Multi-sample hypothesis testing and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Multiple comparisons.
- Data transformation.
- Simple linear regression
Grading Methods
Continuous assessment
There are no minimuns. Undelivered assessment itens count as 0 when calculating the final grade:
- Exercises: 35% (7 exercises, 5% each).
- Written test: 65%.
Assessment in examination period
- One written test with all subjects: 100%.
Students who underwent continuous assessment and obtained a grade greater than or equal to 9.5 in the exercises may choose the following option:
- Average grade of the exercises: 35%.
- Written test with all subjects: 65%.
