Grading Methods

1. Under the general assessment system, a final written exam will be administered, worth 20 points. Students will pass with a grade equal to or higher than 10 points, on a scale of 0 to 20, provided they have obtained at least three (3) points in the theoretical section and three (3) points in the practical section. If the minimum requirements are not met, the maximum grade awarded will be 9 points.

2. Under the periodic and continuous assessment system, the following conditions apply:

2.1. Completion of two midterm exams.

2.2. Each midterm exam will be worth up to 17 points. The remaining three points will be awarded based on the practical work completed in the classroom.

2.3. Students must obtain a minimum grade of 7.0 points in each midterm exam. For each midterm exam, a minimum of three (3) points in the theoretical section and three (3) points in the practical section are required. If the minimum requirements are not met, the maximum grade awarded for attendance will be 6 points.

2.4. Students pass when the sum of the three assessments results in a grade equal to or higher than 9.5 points on a scale of 0 to 20.

2.5. Only students who attended 80% of the classes are eligible for this assessment.

Please note that, at any point during the assessment process, if there is any doubt about the accuracy of the written exam results, even if this can only occur during grading, the student may be subject to an oral defense of the written exam, which will be administered in person. As a result of this defense, the student will maintain the grade obtained in the written exam or will be awarded a grade of "9 points" if they are unable to demonstrate coherently the knowledge consistent with the answers provided. If the student does not attend the grade defense, the grade will be awarded a grade of "9 points."
