Teaching Methodologies

The pedagogical model presupposes the student’s approach to the constantly changing reality of companies and administration, with a
focus on the real estate sector. It presupposes preparation for active life through up-to-date and rigorous scientific contact with academia
and the teacher responsible for the curricular unit.
This reality is transposed into classrooms through the presentation of theoretical content and through practical exercises based on real
controversial issues.
In addition, the political-legislative contours existing in the country’s national panorama influence the legislative change suffered in terms of
urban leasing and condominium rights and such contours are taken into consideration in teaching and learning.
Critical knowledge, autonomous study and, if possible, in groups are encouraged, through critical analysis by the student of the main
theoretical-practical issues presented. Scientific research itself is encouraged, indicating the legal, doctrinal and jurisprudential sources
relevant to this aim and fostering the student’s creative and innovative spirit.
In addition, by holding open classes and/or seminars, with the intervention of reference speakers, and by recommending lectures or
conferences within the scope of this curricular unit, the student perceives other points of view and develops the knowledge required in
teaching. top.

Learning Results

In areas of constant change, after successive legislative changes, with greater emphasis since 2006, in real estate law, through theoretical
exposition, practical exercises, analysis of jurisprudence and doctrine, holding seminars and/or or open classes, the curricular unit allows
the student to understand the distinction, within the scope of leasing, between renting and leasing. The student acquires knowledge about
leasing modalities, critically reflecting and considering, in particular, the legal regime of urban leasing. The student’s legal argumentation is
improved, also acquiring increased skills on horizontal property and condominium law. With this curricular unit, the student identifies and
understands the applicable legislation and becomes aware of the main underlying controversial issues in matters of Lease Law and
Condominium Law.
