Ethics and Social Responsibility in Human Resources

Teaching Methodologies

The curricular unit will be based on theoretical-practical classes. Classes will include the following teaching methodologies (TM):
TM1 – presentation of the theoretical material by the lecturer and discussion with the students
TM2 – analysis by students, in groups, of cases illustrating the subject and subsequent discussion with the lecturer and the other groups;
TM3 – The presence in class of invited human resources professionals who will present the ethical challenges they face and the initiatives
undertaken to overcome them, and the social responsibility, diversity and sustainability practices they promote and implement.

Learning Results

The aim is to encourage reflection on ethical issues in HRM and to highlight the importance of people-centered social responsibility.
Learning objectives (LO):
LO1) Recognize the importance of ethics, social responsibility and sustainability in today’s society.
LO2) Identify ethical dilemmas in management practices and in the work context, discussing their implications.
LO3) Analyse the ethical decision-making process, considering individual and organizational factors.
LO4) Apply ethical theories to the organizational context.
LO5) Highlight the advantages of formalizing ethics through codes of ethics and conduct.
LO6) Recognize the benefits of socially responsible and sustainable practices for the organization and society.
LO7) Identify the instruments related to the social responsibility of organizations, including sustainability, diversity and inclusion.
LO8) Understand the role of the HR Manager in promoting socially responsible and inclusive practices
