 The knowledge basis from the Master of Accounting and Business Taxation during 1.º semester.

This Curricular Unit, CU, is a non-teaching course, and therefore, the concept of “Teaching Method” will not be applicable.

The IPC Regulation for the 2nd Cycle and the Regulation for the 2nd Cycle Courses (Masters) of ISCAC,
the section dedicated to Projects define some considerations regarding the scientific supervision of the works.

The objective of this non-curricular course unit is to enhance scientific research work, in an applied way, through the completion of a business training.

This course unit has the following objectives:

i) To define the general and specific objectives of the Internship Report;

ii) To justify the importance and reason for choosing the Internship;

iii) To define the work problem;

iv) To present, delimit, and justify the chosen methodology, as well as the results obtained;

v) To analyze and discuss the conclusions drawn.

At the end, the student must have the following skills:

a) To prepare research and review of national and international literature;

b) Apply the appropriate methodology to the problem or object of study;

c) Write the internship report objectively and clearly (non-teaching component).

This is a non-teaching Course Unit; thus the concept of “Program” will not be applicable, in the strict sense of
the subjects defined for teaching at the CU.
Nevertheless, the Regulation of 2nd Cycle Courses (Masters) of ISCAC, in the Internship and Report section and respective articles, define the Objectives and duration; the Modalities; Drafting Rules; the Supervision and Guidance of the works.

The non-teaching Internship Unit has a work plan that is included in the Internship and Report proposal, which  is subject to approval by the Technical-Scientific Council, under consideration by the Scientific Committee of the Master.

According to Article 19, point 1, of the Regulation for the 2nd Cycle of Studies (DR 2nd Series, of August 6, 2019), public exams are the public act of defense of the Internship and Report.

These proofs are requested from the president of the UOE, on the academic management platform, and the entire procedure is described in Article 16 of the same regulation. The Rules on the project defense tests are described in Article 20º.
