Base Knowledge
For Portuguese students, this curricular unit only requires the knowledge needed to access the MSc degree. For foreign students it is advised to have basic knowledge of Portuguese geography.
Teaching Methodologies
Classes are theoretical and practical, after the theoretical presentations, the practical situations will be presented with National examples. The lectures will be performed using videos, photographs, power point presentations, practical demonstrations at animal farms.

3- Identify the main quality parameters of livestock products and quality certification systems.

Grading Methods
The continuos assessement will be done with:
-Short-answer test (T) with a weight of 40% on the final grade (F).
-Essay about an animal production system linked to a quality seal. The written work for this essay (E ) will have a weight of 40% in the final grade and the oral presentation (A) of this work will have a 20% weight.
F = 0.4 T+ 0.4 E + 0.2 A
The exam will be assessed through:
-Short-answer test (T) weighing 50% in the final grade (F)
- A description of an animal production system linked to a quality seal (W), taken at the same time as the short-answer test, without consultation, weighing 50% for the final grade (F)
F = 0.5 T+ 0.5 W
