Learning Results

The Dissertation is based on a scientific work focused on a theme or topic within the field of knowledge of the master’s degree in business sciences.

Its objectives are to:

  • Develop advanced skills in applied research in the area of business management.
  • Integrate and apply the knowledge acquired throughout the study cycle to the resolution of complex organizational problems.
  • Foster the ability for critical analysis, strategic thinking, and decision-making based on scientific evidence.
  • Consolidate oral and written communication skills in academic and professional contexts.
  • Stimulate autonomy, project management, and compliance with ethical and deontological principles in research.

The competences to be developed are:

  • Ability to formulate relevant research questions in business management.
  • Selection and application of appropriate scientific research methodologies.
  • Critical analysis and interpretation of qualitative and/or quantitative data.
  • Writing an academic work structured according to scientific standards.
  • Effective communication of research results to different audiences.

Program

By opting for this Dissertation modality, the student focuses their work on research into a relevant topic within the field of knowledge of the master’s degree they are attending. Typically, the research topic results from an in-depth analysis of the existing literature and is primarily aimed at addressing a theoretically and/or practically relevant question in the field of business management.

Guiding structure:

  • Definition of the topic and formulation of the research question.
  • Literature review and theoretical framework.
  • Formulation of hypotheses and/or research objectives.
  • Selection of the research methodology (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed).
  • Data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Critical discussion of the results and their implications for business management and research.
  • Structure and writing of the dissertation.
  • Preparation for the public defense of the work.
