Project work

Teaching Methodologies

The following teaching-learning methodology will be used:
ME1 – Autonomous work with tutorial guidance: the Dissertation / Project Work / Internship and Report will
be carried out by the student, with the guidance of one or more lecturers and, in the case of the Internship,
also a supervisor from the host organisation, who accompany and support the student along this path of
developing their work.

Learning Results

OA1 – Develop, accompanied by a supervisor and possibly a co-supervisor (and supervisor, in the Internship),
a D/P/E within the areas of knowledge of the SC, selecting the modality according to the specific objectives
of each student.
– The aim of the dissertation is to produce an original piece of scientific work, involving the adoption of
appropriate research methodologies, methods and techniques and supported by scientific literature on the
subject.
– The Project Work aims to carry out work of an applied nature to an organisation, whether a business or
not, in order to solve a specific problem with an innovative solution or process improvement, involving the
integrated application of appropriate knowledge and methodologies.
– The Internship, of a professional nature, aims to complement academic training through guided integration
in an organisation, business or not, which is the host entity for the internship, based on a plan of activities to
be developed there, ending with the preparation of a final report, which critically analyses the procedures
and/or processes dealt with during the internship, as well as the contributions resulting from it.
Regardless of the modality chosen, the student is expected to obtain the following competences:
C1 – Ability to identify a research topic in the area of management control;
C2 – Ability to research, select, analyse, interpret and compare relevant literature and information on the
selected research topic;
C3 – Ability to understand fundamental concepts and theories that support the selected research topic;
C4 – Ability to apply knowledge, using a scientific method appropriate to the proposed research objective;
C5 – Ability to synthesise, organise and summarise the information gathered and the results / solutions
proposed in the final work;
C6 – Critical ability in analysing the results or evaluating the proposed solutions.
