Teaching Methodologies

The TP contents are also addressed in expository sessions, also based on bibliography of the specialty. In turn, the PL component is consolidated with experience, exploration and experimentation as a practitioner, in a first phase, and as a Technician in a later phase, passing the student through various microteaching situations. The UC teacher(s) will use NÓNIO, adopted by ESEC-IPC as a support platform and interface with students.

This CU is assessed by continuous/periodic evaluation and exam [100% = 20 points].

By continuous/periodic evaluation, the following items are considered:

1. Theoretical-practical and practical-laboratory tests (55%).

2. Tests (40%).

3. In-person participation (5%)

By exam, the following items are considered:

1. Test (100%).

Learning Results

1. Critically analyze the historical, social and cultural trends that gave rise to Orienteering.

2. Interpret the legislation in force regarding the regime of access and exercise of the activity of sports coach, and the professional profile of

the coach of level I of Orienteering.

3. Relate the environmental impact caused by the practice of guidance to the requirements of sustainable development, and analyze and

propose measures to mitigate and compensate for these impacts.

4. Identify and apply the basic concepts and principles that govern cartography and the cartographer’s career, describe the necessary

phases to be developed for the preparation of the map, organize and prepare the work of mapping, and adopt the procedures of fieldwork

and map design.

5. Adopt specific orienteering skills to move around the field with the aid of the map, adapting basic orienteering techniques, and identify

strategies for teaching these skills.
