To know how to define memory and its neurological mechanisms
To know how to distinguish the different types of memory
To know how to define attention and its importance in listening
To reflect on the importance of emotions and feelings in memory, attention and auditory processing / listening
To reflect on the impact of hearing loss on memory, attention and emotions
To distinguish the notions of language and speech: reflecting on Saussure’s influence
To know the main aspects of language acquisition and development in children
To know the main aspects of language acquisition and development in children with hearing loss
To understand the linguistic implications of bilingualism
To know the different paradigms for studying language development in children
To know how to relate perception, memory and language
To know the different stages of learning to read and their relationship with perception (auditory, visual and proprioception)
