Eletrocardiology I

Base Knowledge

Knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology and the conduction system. Knowledge of cardiac and coronary anatomy.

Teaching Methodologies

The teaching of this course is divided into two components, a theoretical-practical and practical. The teaching methods applied are:

METHOD EXHIBITION:

Underlying principles and concepts as proposed program, using audiovisual media

INTERACTIVE METHOD:

Privileged discussion on relevant themes introduced in class.

 

Learning Results

The student must acquire knowledge of:

– Study of normal electrocardiogram

– Study of atrial and ventricular hypertrophies

– Study of intraventricular conduction disorders

– Study of atrioventricular conduction disorders

– Study of the electrocardiogram in ischemic heart disease

– Study of the electrocardiogram in other disorders

– Study of the electrocardiogram in other variants

– Study and monitoring in stress test

– Study and monitoring in Nuclear Cardiology.

The student must acquire skills in:

– Perform basal electrocardiograms, reading and reporting;

– Identify the electrocardiographic patterns of the pathologies taught;

The student must acquire skills of:

– Develop the ability to retain and in the future expand their knowledge in all aspects of the electrocardiology.

Grading Methods

 

The assessment of the curricular unit takes the form of continuous assessment and written test in the theoretical and theoretical-practical components. The practical assessment takes the form of continuous assessment, and may also have a moment of practical assessment.

I. Theoretical evaluation (T): - Assessment by frequency: the assessment will be done by carrying out a written test at the end of the semester.

II. Theoretical-practical evaluation (T/P): - Assessment by frequency: the assessment will be done by carrying out a written test at the end of the semester.

III. Practical evaluation (P): - The practical assessment will be based on continuous assessment throughout the semester with an emphasis on the ability to solve practical problems, and may also have a moment of practical assessment.

The final grade of the curricular unit will result from the weighting of the grades obtained in the theoretical, theoretical/practical and practical components, according to the following formula: Final Grade = Weighted Average (T+T/P+P). In the theoretical, theoretical/practical and practical components, the minimum grade is 9,5 points. Approval in the course is obtained with a classification greater than or equal to 10 values.

The provisions of the current Academic Regulations regarding access to the Exam Periods will be complied with.
