Teaching Methodologies

Classes consist of a theoretical exposition of the subject, but always accompanied by practical examples so that there is a better and easier understanding of it. The resolution of practical exercises is done using the SPSS computer support, thus making it possible to apply the material taught to real cases.

 Students are provided a theoretical support, throughout the semester, so that they can better follow the explanation of the subjects taught. The clarification of questions is done in fixe schedule or in time to be arranged. The NONIO platform is used in the transmission and organization of support to school materials as well as through interaction teacher / student and among students.

Learning Results

The student should acquire skills to understand the underlying applicability of the theoretical models used for statistical analysis as well as analyse and interpret the results obtained. Students should also be able to use the computer software SPSS to solve problems involving the concepts developed in the course.

The student should acquire the basic skills for conducting studies for quantitative analysis, also critical appreciation and proper interpretation of the results of an inferential study.

Grading Methods

Continuous knowledge assessment is carried out based on two assessment moments. The first test focuses on the 1st part of the subject (chapters 1, 2 and 3 of the syllabus) and the 2nd test will evaluate the entire subject of the program. The final grade of the continuous assessment is the weighted average of the two evaluation moments, with the weight of the tests being 6 values for the 1st test (T- 4 values; PL- 2 values) and 14 for the 2nd test (T - 7 values; PL- 7 values). The student will only be able to take the 2nd test if he has obtained a minimum score of 7.5 points (from 0 to 20 points) in the 1st test. The student cannot be approved if his final grade, in at least one of the components, is less than 9,5 points. The evaluation methodology adopted follows the provisions of the ESTeSC Academic Regulation currently in force.
