Base Knowledge
The basic knowledge acquired in previous UCs in the study plan, such as Psychology of interpersonal relationships and Health Psychology.
Teaching Methodologies
The theoretical classes will be developed in a theoretical model with a structured exposition of the contents and the theoretical practical classes, according to active methodologies, analysis/discussion/debate and practical applications of the contents covered. An interrogative/interactive and demonstration/exemplification methodology is used through its practical application in everyday situations and real contexts. Includes the study and autonomous application of content.
Learning Results
The student must:
– Understand the relationship of food and nutritional status of the individual with the cultural and social framework of the individual and the community
– Identify brain mechanisms involved in both eating behavior and cognitive functioning ere in controlling the emotions of eating behaviors, as well as the importance of food in the individual’s socialization.
-Understand the relationship between neuropsychology and the modeling of human behavior
– Apply research methods and techniques used by psychology to study behaviors associated with health and illness
– Acquire knowledge about basic communication and counseling techniques in Nutrition and understand the role of motivation in adherence to nutritional therapy.

7) Know the Basic Skills of Counseling
8) Relate Counseling Skills to problem situations in Nutrition
9) Understand the role of motivation in adherence to nutritional therapy
10) Basic communication and counseling techniques in Nutrition. Motivational interviewing and treatment adherence.
11) Mental disorders in relation to changes in eating behavior (e.g. eating disorders, depression)
