Teaching Methodologies
The theoretical classes aim at a detailed presentation of the program content. Using an expository-active methodology, appealing to the active participation of students in the teaching-learning process, with continuous and written assessment.
In the practical aspect of teaching, observation and interaction in caregiving settings are prioritized, favoring observational assessment and the completion of two individual reports.
Learning Results
The student must acquire knowledge of:
• Fundamental characteristics of the profession as a healthcare professional
• The historical approach to teaching and the profession/practice
• Develop a deep understanding of the contexts in which they work, aiming to train a competent, active, conscientious, and responsible professional
• Understand the structure of healthcare institutions
The student must acquire skills in:
• Reflect on the nature of the profession, its characteristics, and professional contexts;
• Identify with their future profession, embracing its history and culture, becoming an agent of development of their own profession.
The student must acquire skills in:
• Define their profession and the operating structure of the services where they work
• Contribute to the development of the profession, initiating and understanding quality management and innovation processes within a multidisciplinary and collaborative context
• Contribute to the evaluation, improvement, and maintenance of the quality of professional practice
Program
The precursors of the three professional areas: Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiotherapy: a historical approach;
The National Health System and the National Health System and their articulation;
Hospital as a specific organization;
Services (the different specialties) and their articulation with Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Services;
Hospital workflow;
Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Services: specificities, organization, workflows (patient/professionals);
The Professional in the different work contexts: national and international;
Work-related study visits to leading public and private services.
