The student should have knowledge on the principals of general and human biology, and previous anatomy concepts (Anatomy I).
Teaching Methodologies
English
The theoretical classes aim to address in detail the syllabus. Na actively expository methodology will be used, motivating for the direct intervention of the students, and favouring an abundant iconography, instead of the classical theoretical teaching.
On theoretical-practical component, students will be encouraged to do practical work, assisted by multimedia, with explanations and demonstrations on anatomical models. Assisting to autopsies will also be encouraged as well as teaching in cadaveric organs.
The learning activities will use resources acquired through the Innov2Care project.
Learning Results
The student must acquire knowledge on:
– Descriptive and topographic anatomy in different anatomical planes.
– Description and location of anatomical structures according to the international anatomical nomina.
The student should acquire skills and competences of:
– Identifying and describing anatomical structures, considering normal anatomy and its variants.
– Describing anatomical structures for different systems.
– Establishing anatomical spatial correlations.
– Correlating anatomical structures with their function, for further application in a clinical
Program
Anatomy of the appendicular skeleton:
– Upper limb: myology, angiology and innervation
– Lower limb: myology, angiology and innervation
Abdomen and perineum:
– Abdominal wall: skin, fascias, muscles and peritoneum.
– Abdomino-pelvic visceras: esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder and biliar tree, pancreas, bowel, rectum and anus, spleen, kidneys, ureter and bladder, adrenal glands, perineum, male and female genitalia.
Anatomy of the neck: fascia, muscles (superficial and deep planes), vascularization and innervation, pharynx, larynx, thyroid, and parathyroid glands

Evaluation methods for this curricular unit include 2 (two) exams during the semester weighted as follows: 35% for theoretical-practical component and 65% for theoretical component. Each exam accounts for 50% of the final grade.
Each component requires a minimum grade of 9.5. To access the theoretical component in each assessment moment, students must achieve the minimum grade in the theoretical-practical component. Similarly, a minimum grade of 9.5 is required in each theoretical test.
Approval to this curricular unit is granted with a mean of 9.5.
Assessment by exam follows the same distribution of weights between the two matrices with the same criteria to access the theoretical component.
In case of a final grade higher than 15, it will be confirmed by an oral test, prevailing the best grade.
