Learning Results
This curricular unit aims to acquire skills that allow the characterization and understanding of the causes and nature of the main psychiatric pathologies, mediated by changes in mental structures and functions, as well as the resulting forms of behavioral manifestations or experiences that may indicate a psychologically abnormal mental state.
Based on an expository methodology, it seeks to conceptualize psychopathology as a broad and complex area that is based on several areas of knowledge, from biology to neuroscience, involving disciplines such as psychology, psychoanalysis, psychiatry, neurology,
philosophy and sociology.
The curricular path has the primary objective of teaching how to identify and differentiate psychiatric semiological diversity, integrating it into the main psychiatric nosological frameworks, diagnostic classification systems and respective epidemiological relevance.
