Teaching Methodologies
In order to follow a pedagogical model centered on the student and oriented towards the development of professional skills in the area of Occupational Therapy, the following teaching methods are proposed:
Theoretical classes: expository, demonstrative and interrogative
Theoretical-practical classes: active methods, analysis of problem situations (analysis and adaptation of the activity)
Practical classes will involve demonstrations and simulations of problem situations so that students can apply their previous knowledge of activity analysis to carry out occupational adaptation in a simulated context of supervised practice.
These methodologies make it possible to combine various teaching methodologies that will facilitate student learning since they offer various alternatives so that, as well as acquiring theoretical knowledge, they can develop the skills and competences that are essential for practicing their profession as occupational therapists.
Students who obtain a minimum grade of 10 (ten), rounded up, will be considered to have passed this course unit. Continuous assessment
Class participation (25%) and group work (50%) Individual report (30%)
Final assessment
Regular/resit/special exam period: and individual work (100%)

Learning Results
Know, understand and apply the concept of occupational adaptation, analyzing environmental factors and their influence on occupation at different stages of life;
Know, understand and apply the techniques inherent in the concept of positioning and transfers, respecting the specificities of each individual and their context;
Apply intervention approaches focused on modifying occupation requirements;
Identify, analyze and autonomously apply examples of adapting activities in different situations of altered body functions, in terms of occupations;
Program
Occupational adaptation
Models of occupational adaptation Occupational changes throughout life Occupational identity and competence, occupational narrative
Environmental factors and their influence on occupation Architectural, digital, attitudinal and communication accessibility
Intervention approach focused on modifying the demands of the occupation and activity at the same level: its relevance and importance; objects, spaces and social requirements, sequence and time requirements, bodily functions and structures performance skills
Examples of activity adaptation in situations of global and specific mental, sensory (e.g. auditory, visual), neuromusculoskeletal and movement-related, voice and speech dysfunctions in occupations:
Modification of therapeutic materials and materials for use in occupations
