Teaching Methodologies
Theoretical Classes: Expository teaching of the different dysfunctions and diagnoses in Occupational Therapy as well as how they impact occupational performance.
Theoretical-practical classes: Demonstration and exemplification of the different intervention methodologies, approaches and techniques in Occupational Therapy. Analysis and study of cases.
Practical classes: Demonstration and exemplification by the teacher of the approaches and techniques taught, with simulated practice among the students, under the supervision of the teacher.
Students who obtain a minimum grade of 10 (ten), rounded up, will be considered to have passed this course unit.

Understand and learn about the concept of ageing, active ageing and its characteristics
Learn about and understand the different dysfunctions that affect occupational performance with ageing
Analyse, interpret and relate the characteristics of different clinical conditions and their impact on occupational development in older people and their families
Know, understand and select models and methods of practice that meet the occupational needs of older people, their approaches and types of intervention
Adapt and apply the occupational therapy process, in close collaboration with the individual, group, family and carers;
Demonstrate the ability to select the most appropriate intervention for each individual, taking into account occupational science, areas of treatment and the occupational needs of each individual, based on scientific evidence;
