Teaching Methodologies
Expository and interactive theoretical-practical classes, enable the understanding of the syllabus. Theoretical-practical classes allow students to assimilate the intervention methodology in Children’s Hearing Rehabilitation that is most indicated depending on the clinical situation and the child’s age group in an integrated way and with an overall view. The teaching mode of classes is remote.
Students will have access to the pedagogical supports of all subjects taught, as well as to the bibliographical references recommended for this Curricular Unit.
Learning Results
Deepen knowledge about the neuro involvement of normal child and those with hearing impairment;
Develop and update knowledge about the requirements of hearing re(h)habilitation of children during the first months of life;
Build and apply innovative protocols for Hearing re(h)habilitation, adjusted to the child’s cognitive development;
Understanding the challenges and future of Hearing (Re)habilitation of children in Portugal and worldwide.

Grading Methods
Continuous evaluation:
Individual written work (portfolio) about three different clinical cases, one of them about implants. Approach according to the work developed during the classes.
Presentation of the three cases during the class, followed by discussion.
The final grade must be at least 9.5 values.
