Course Objectives
Pain is a multidimensional experience that occurs in the individual through their dynamic interaction with their environment, far beyond any anatomical structure or system, without detracting from the relevance of these. It is therefore essential to cross universes of knowledge, from neuroscience and neuro-immuno-physiological processes, behavioural sciences, clinical mechanisms associated with pain, assessment of the Person with painful conditions, and decision-making in intervention, where communication is paramount as a key element of the therapeutic relationship and the effectiveness of the intervention. Increasingly, the clinical approach should encompass the concept of health and the active role of the individual as an agent of change, with the physiotherapist acting as a facilitator of the entire intervention process.
The Micro-credential course in Pain in motion: from synapse to person aims to provide participants with up-to-date knowledge related to pain, as well as to train them in assessment skills, clinical reasoning, and selection of the most appropriate physiotherapy intervention, based on the best available evidence, in the care of people with pain. Participants will also be expected to acquire communication strategies focused on movement, functionality, and lifestyle, centered on the individual and their areas of interest in health.
