Micro-credential in Phage Therapy Therapeutic Applications

Course Objectives

Phage therapy, recently approved in Portugal, is based on the application of lytic bacteriophages, which specifically recognise and eliminate bacteria. For therapeutic application, as an alternative or in combination with antibiotherapy, these viruses undergo prior preparation using biotechnological procedures.
This course aims to contribute to the optimisation of the scientific and technical skills of health professionals and professionals in the Biomedical Sciences area, training participants through a set of basic knowledge that allows them to contextualise and understand the fundamental principles of therapeutic applications applied to phage therapy.
