Desenho e Modelação 3D

Base Knowledge

There are no limitations regarding basic knowledge for attending the course unit.

Teaching Methodologies

The theoretical component of the course will utilise the lecture method, complemented by practical application examples.

The practical component will use practical application examples, prioritising the exchange of ideas, approach, and problem-solving by the students themselves throughout the class. Execution laboratory assignments.

The visualisation/use of the SolidWorks software, version 2024/25, will support both case studies. The two components will be interconnected, with application examples used to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge.

Learning Results

Objectives:

Drawing and three-dimensional modelling skills are essential in electromechanical engineering. Therefore, this course aims to equip future eletromechanical engineers with the skills necessary to reading, understanding, interpret and create mechanical construction drawings, using both orthogonal and/or perspective projections. Thus, the objective is to acquire skills in reading, analyzing, and executing drawings of mechanical components, both individual and assembly, using traditional methods and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

Generic skills:

Promote the learning process of exchanging ideas and discussing problems and solutions related to the design of mechanical components, with a particular interest in the field of eletromechanical engineering.

Specific skills:

Knowing how to prepare technical drawings, either using traditional methods or the latest computer-aided design tools. Creating dimensioned parts and assemblies using a CAD system or manually and converting 3D models into 2D drawings according to existing standards, enabling the manufacture parts.
