Teaching Methodologies
The teaching-learning process is based on a combination of activities that use different types of methods appropriate for each type of content:
-Review of grammatical items, with explanation and practical exercises;
-Reading and analysis of different types of text aiming at acquiring vocabulary in the area of studies;
-Exercises to apply this vocabulary;
-Preparation of work under guidance;
-Oral presentation and discussion of work carried out individually and/or in groups.
Learning Results
-Improve language skills to a B2 level
-Improve linguistic correctness in speech and writing
-Learn to structure an essay based on the use of topics
-Write an informal letter
-Present and develop an oral presentation
-Prepare students for the external English examination, level B2, of the Cambridge University First Certificate.
Program
-Review of grammatical items: adjectives, interrogatives and negatives with auxiliary verb, verb tenses (simple and continuous form), modal and phrasal verbs, nouns/nouns, prepositions of place and time, etc.
-Vocabulary consolidation: daily life, feelings, transportation, prefixes/suffixes, employment, careers, time management, numerals, mathematical signs and symbols, internet, passwords, work-related vocabulary, e-commerce, cyber attacks
-Development of textual comprehension: interpretation, true/false exercises, filling in the gaps.
-Improving listening skills: note-taking, multiple choice
-Familiarity with academic and business writing: informal and formal writing
-Improvement of speaking techniques: comparison, argumentation and debate

Continuous/periodic assessment (24 classes)
- 1 written test (04/12 - listening and writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar, and oral presentation of work to be defined (11/12 and 18/12) - 80%
- participation, attendance, oral communication 20%
-Students must have an attendance rate equal to or greater than 75% (students may miss 6 classes)
Assessment by final exam
- The final exam assessment consists of a final test covering the entire subject, with an oral component, with the written component weighing 80% and the oral component weighing 20%.
