German IV (Foreign Languages IV)

Base Knowledge

It is mandatory for students to have completed A1 level and that they have some knowledge of level A2.

Teaching Methodologies

Some teaching strategies involve:
–    Participating in classes
–    In-class individual and group work
–    Debates, games, discussion on cultural aspects
–    Playing out real life situations, role-play.

Learning Results

In this semester, the student will complete the A2 level. Among other skills, it is expected that students:
    can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
    communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
    describe past action.
    express desire.
    can report on matters of immediate need.

Grading Methods

Continuous evaluation requires:

  • 55%     2 written tests 1.P = 27,5%, 2.P=27,5%
  • 30%     1 presentation 
  • 15%     attendance, in-class work

75% of attendance is required.

In case students choose to be evaluated by final exam, they must have an oral component, regardless of the grade. (80% for the written part, 20% for the oral)
