Teaching Methodologies
The teaching methodologies follow a timeline that allows students to acquire theoretical knowledge on the main topics of the course. To ensure that this theoretical knowledge is internalized by the students, practical exercises are then studied. The computational tools used are presented at each step.
Learning Results
This course aims to provide students with a set of fundamental knowledge in the field of Industrial Automation and Instrumentation, specifically by presenting and developing a set of concepts and knowledge in the area of sensors and actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical), as well as the necessary components, including industrial robot manipulators.Therefore, students must be able to interact with experts in the field and make technically and scientifically informed choices among various solutions.
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
– Identify sensors and actuation and control elements present in automation systems;
– Describe the operation and applicability of the various equipment used in automation systems;
– Analyze, specify, and size different solutions with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical drive technologies;
– Design control solutions based on pneumatic and electromechanical wired logic;
– Program industrial robot manipulators.
