Basic electricity and electrotechnics;
Mathematics (Fourier series and transforms, statistics);
Introduction to communication networks (OSI model, IP addressing, Cisco CLI).
Teaching Methodologies
Theoretical component: Taught through presentation and discussion, with an exposition of the relevant aspects of current technological solutions.
Practical/Laboratory component: Solving exercises, assembling structured cabling subsystems, conducting site surveys, and assembling digital telephony infrastructures.
Learning Results
This course addresses the aspects related with the infrastructure of local area networks.
It is expected that students develop skills on planning, designing, scaling and deploying structured cabling networks accordingly with the ISO and IEEE standards.
