Applied informatics

Basic concepts of Mathematics.

The concepts are introduced first and then are applied in problem-solving based on Microsoft Excel software.

1. Objectives: to understand how a spreadsheet works and the potential of its application to the resolution of real problems, in the several fields addressed throughout the course.

2. Generic skills: application of knowledge and understanding of concepts; decision-making; communication; self-learning.

3. Information organization.
4. Charts.
5. Advanced data analysis: pivot tables and pivot tables; scenarios; goal-seeking.
6. Importing and exporting information.
7. Excel programming: automation of tasks through Macros; Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming language.
