Teaching Methodologies

The teaching methodology is based on two learning processes:
AFFIRMATIVE METHOD, in theoretical-practical classes, in which knowledge is transmitted using the exposition and demonstration of
subjects inherent to each theme, encouraging reflection on the issues studied.
ACTIVE METHOD, in practical classes, based on the principle of self-training, in which students analyse and test experimental exercises,
stimulating their practical skills. Students are assisted in solving practical exercises individually or in groups.

Learning Results

OBJECTIVES:
To develop basic knowledge of the elements of environmental comfort, to enable high performance in architectural design and urban space.
Acquisition of fundamental knowledge related to bioclimatic construction, articulating the fundamental technical-scientific concepts,
exploring the potential of the methods, with the aim of integrating this knowledge into the theory and practice of construction, whether in
urban design, the design of new buildings or the rehabilitation of existing buildings.
SKILLS
Develop knowledge and skills in the field of bioclimatic construction and the hygrothermal, lighting and acoustic performance of the built
environment, enabling them to work collaboratively in an integrated team environment.
Know how to characterize and adapt construction materials, techniques and systems to promote the thermal and acoustic comfort of built
environments.

Grading Methods

CONTINUOS EVALUATION METHODOLOGY

The evaluation will be ongoing and will focus on evaluation exercises conducted in the theoretical lessons in class laboratory and a practical work produced by students throughout the school term. The exercises are of practical application to apply knowledge acquired in the topics discussed.

The evaluation exercises will be 2 (two) and should be held in theoretical lesson practice, except pre-announced change by the teacher in charge, with minimum antecedence of 5 (five) working days. In addition to the proposed evaluation exercises, a practical work of continuous evaluation will take place in the laboratory lessons.

The evaluation will be translated in a final rating of 0 to 20 quantitative values, shared in part by the following parameters:

            01        Practical exercise                           10 values

            02        Theoretical-practical evaluation    8 values

            03        Attendance and participation        2 values

The approval requires obtaining at least 10 (ten) values in the Final note.

The results of more than 16 values will be defended in oral, if the teacher understands this.
