Teaching Methodologies
The teaching methodology recommended in this curricular unit comprises continuous assessment based on the development and
presentation of work, complemented by written tests, and is aligned with the objective of promoting a broad knowledge of the acoustic
behavior of buildings.
Learning Results
To introduce students to (i) acoustic phenomena in enclosed spaces, (ii) sound transmission mechanisms in building elements, (iii) the
normative and regulatory frameworks applicable to building construction, (iv) insulation against airborne and percussion sounds, (iv)
simplified calculation and forecasting methods, (v) interference with other building construction specialties. (vi) Environmental noise, from
equipment and installations.
