Students should be computer literate and proactive in interacting with computers and other IT systems.

Knowledge of the English language is highly recommended, preferably in technical English (Computer Science).

According to the ISEC CTeSP regulations, attendance at at least 75% of the total hours of the course unit is compulsory to obtain attendance. This condition is valid for access to all the assessments to be carried out during the school term.

Students who meet the attendance exemption criteria laid down by law are exempt from this regime.

The course will be assessed by continuous assessment, which consists of four theoretical/practical written tests taken in class and participation in the activities, exercises and challenges provided during contact hours.

A single grade improvement is possible, with the final grade in the course being the highest between the one obtained initially and the one resulting from the grade improvement.

The student's approval is subject to compliance with the following requirements:

a) Attendance at at least 75% of the total hours of the curricular unit

b) Completion of the assessment

     - 4 continuous assessment tests (A+B+C+D)

     - 1 grade improvement test (E) [optional]

c) Participation in the activities, exercises and challenges provided (F)

d) The final grade will be obtained by weighting the continuous assessment grades

e) The final grade must have a minimum of 9.5 points, on a scale of 0-20 points, in the “Final grade for the course”, rounded up to the nearest integer.

The final grade will be calculated using only one of the following expressions:

- UC final grade = [Average (A; B; C; D) * 75%] + [Activities (F) * 25%]

- UC final grade = [Improvement (E) * 75%] + [Activities (F) * 25%]

Notes: The rounding of the grade to the whole unit, is only applied to the final grade, the calculations are carried out on the grade with 2 decimal places.

Additional rules for continuous assessment:

a) 1 handwritten A4 page is allowed for consultation during the test.

b) No printed or photocopied sheets are allowed.

c) Unless expressly authorized by the teacher responsible for the respective UC, the possession of elements that may allow or enhance cheating, such as cell phones, laptops, smartwatches, tablets, books, tablets, or any other equivalent elements, as well as any other communication, computing or storage devices, is not allowed during tests or other assessment activities.
