Teaching Methodologies

1 – Theoretical Classes: Presentation of fundamental concepts and analysis and design techniques, enabling the acquisition of essential skills for practical classes. Each topic presented and studied is illustrated with current examples. Continuous assessment of students’ understanding is conducted through questions, dialogues, and highly interactive discussions.

2 – Practical Classes: A significant component of practical work is included, given the nature of the course, to enhance student participation and encourage them to take an active role in building their knowledge.

Learning Results

This module’s main objective is to introduce the fundamental concepts of Human-Computer Interaction used in the development of software applications. To achieve this, topics such as the characteristics of humans and machines, types and characteristics of interactions, mental and conceptual models, usability and accessibility, interface ergonomics, interface evaluation, and new interaction paradigms will be covered. Through practical work and examples, the critical ability to use, understand, design, and evaluate interfaces for various types of applications will be developed.

Grading Methods

In the calculation of the final grade, continuous assessment is weighted at 100%.

To pass the course, students must achieve a minimum final grade of 47.5%.

The process of collecting information, used continuously and systematically for assessment purposes, consists of the direct observation of the work performed by students in the classroom, based on the tasks, activities, and worksheets proposed, as well as the content reflected in the digital portfolio to be developed by the students.

The work carried out in the classroom accounts for 20% of the grade, the digital portfolio for 40%, and the individual final work/project (which includes presentation and defense) also for 40%.

All observed and collected information, derived from different tools and processes, contributes to the assessment of competencies.
