Base Knowledge

Knowledge equivalent to that acquired in the Databases 1 course unit.

Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical classes: Exposition of theoretical concepts, accompanied by practical examples.

Practical classes: Hands-on exercises in an Oracle SQL Developer environment, with provided exercise sheets.
Phased development and support for the practical project.

Learning Results

Upon completion of the course unit, students should be able to:

Develop robust PL/SQL applications for server-side data processing.
Understand and apply database tuning and optimization techniques.
Plan and execute critical administration operations, such as backup and recovery.
Model and implement complex and efficient relational schemas.
Critically analyze data management solutions and justify technical decisions.

Grading Methods

Assessment in this course unit is continuous, consisting of two assessment elements with the following weightings:

Theoretical Tests (60%): Two written tests will be held, each with a weighting of 6 values (for a total of 12 values).

Practical Project (40%): A practical group project (composed of 2 or 3 members) is developed, with a weighting of 8 values.
