-Avaliação contínua — Avaliação que pressupõe o acompanhamento regular da atividade letiva e do desempenho do estudante sem agendamento prévio (exemplos: valorização das presenças, questões de aula sem data de execução atribuída);

All students must ensure that their mailbox is operational, read daily and has sufficient space to receive regular mail in order to maintain a reliable communication channel with the regent. Deadlines and other elements communicated by email and not met may result in failure of the curricular unit.

The evaluation methodology called by the M1 School will be adopted in this Curricular Unit (UC). As clarified in an email from the Vice-President of ISEC (2021/11/19; 18:07), in this methodology the assessment is carried out using types of continuous and/or periodic assessment, ending before the exam period, with no subsequent assessment/examination time.

Students who have a special status, duly recognized by the Academic Services, which makes it impossible for them to attend classes on a formally justified regular basis, must communicate this fact in a duly documented manner by email to the regent as quickly as possible so that alternative assessment moments can be scheduled, reconcilable with impediments that the student's status justifies. It is also the responsibility of these students to follow the curricular unit from the beginning of the semester and maintain regular contact via email and Nónio with the regent.

Students who have attended the previous edition without approval but have attended the minimum required number of classes (75% or more of classes, including justified absences) must proceed as described above for students who have a special status that makes it impossible for them to regularly attend the curricular unit.

Any student unable to attend an assessment on time with a justification validated by the course coordinator must communicate the fact to the conductor by email as quickly as possible to find an alternative assessment date.

The curricular unit works under the M1 Assessment Model, that is, exclusively continuous assessment. In the M1 model, the UC assessment is carried out using continuous and/or periodic assessment types, it ends before the exam period and there are no exam dates assigned to this UC:

-Continuous assessment — Assessment that presupposes regular monitoring of teaching activity and student performance without prior scheduling (examples: appreciation of attendance, class questions without an assigned execution date);

-Periodic assessment — Distributed assessment that takes place throughout the academic period and which can consist of several different assessment instruments (examples: frequencies, tests, work delivery, etc.) as long as they are previously scheduled.

- The student must have at least 75% attendance in all classes, that is, they must be present in at least 42 hours of the 56 contact hours planned. Cases identified in current legislation are excluded.

Continuous and/or periodic periodic assessment consists of three tests (which are assumed to be carried out in person) with equal marks and class assignments and questions throughout the semester. Tests have a weight of 70% (14 points) and assignments and class questions have a weight of 30% (6 points) in the final grade (20 points). There will be 6 assignments and class questions, counting only the 5 best.

The first test will be on October 17th, lasting 1h30 and themes 1 and 2 will be evaluated.

The second test will be on December 5th, lasting 1h30 and topics 3 and 4 will be evaluated.

The third test will be on January 14th, lasting 1 hour and themes 5 and 6 will be evaluated.

In all tests the student must obtain a minimum rating of 5 out of 20 values. If n1 is the grade obtained in the first test, n2 the grade in the second test and n3 the grade in the third test (grades on a scale of 0 to 20 values), then the contribution of the tests to the final grade is given by the expression (n1+ n2+n3)/3*0.7. The student is approved if the sum of the results of the tests and assignments is greater than or equal to 10 points.

Student results are posted on the attendance agenda.

The student cannot use a calculating machine in the tests and class questions of the curricular unit.
