Teaching Methodologies
The methodology adopted in the theoretical-practical classes includes four different stages for each topic. In the first stage, students are contextualised with a summary of recent developments, followed by a theoretical presentation of the current situation and methodologies, opting for the expository and inquisitive method. In the 3rd phase, the students are shown how to apply the knowledge they have learnt through the presentation of solved examples, reports of real situations and the resolution of exercises. Learning Results
At the end of this course unit students should be able to:
-Understand and apply the various existing construction techniques and processes;
-Specialised knowledge in determining the performance of the various construction activities;
-Specialised knowledge of the sequence in which construction work is carried out;
-specialised knowledge of construction techniques and processes;
-identify the functional requirements applicable to each construction element or piece of equipment;
-analyse and identify the specific characteristics of each intervention;
-Demonstrate initiative and responsibility in the management of resources.

•The assessment has two components:
•Assessment based on assignments (compulsory regardless of the exam period): 30%
•Written tests taken throughout the semester or resit exam: 70%
•Assessment component based on assignments (6 credits):
•Preparation, presentation and defence of two group research projects – 3 credits each;
•TPG1 = Group research project, 3 points, compulsory, presentation and oral defence in class
•TPG2 = Group research project, 3 points, compulsory, presentation and oral defence in class
•Students must achieve a minimum score of 25% in each of the projects•
•Assessment component based on written tests (14 points):•
•Written test – 14 points (resit exam);•
•Students must achieve a minimum score of 25% in each written test
•With regard to practical work, its assessment component will consist of all assessment periods, and work completed in previous academic years will not be considered. Work submitted after the deadline will be penalised by 30%. Work submitted on time but not defended will be penalised by 50%.
