Teaching Methodologies
The exposure of the contents is done in the theoretical classes, using as a main support the projection of slides or transparencies. Student participation is raised through the formulation of questions that lead them to reflect on the different subjects dealt with and creating opportunities for clarification of doubts.
In the classes, application problems are solved allowing students to contact with practical issues and critical analysis of the results obtained. Some academic time will be used to carry out research work with a view to preparing the individual work report.
Learning Results
The objective of this unit course is to provide students with knowledge about Lifecycle Management of Hospital Physical Assets. It is intended that students to develop skills that allow them, in conceptual and practical, to understand the concepts related to the analysis, evaluation and management of physical assets taking into account the binomial replacement/profitability, Substitution/Sustainability, Substitution/Environment and Substitution/Technology.
Identify and be able to use the major asset management and replacement models. To determine whether a major repair or technological upgrade is economically feasible and when equipment should be replaced in an economic perspective or in a perspective of technological obsolescence.
To know the performance evaluation techniques, cost models and indicative values for different types of assets. Accounting for economic, financial, social and environmental costs. To know how to define the benefits of an asset. To know the models of cost-benefit in time, deterministic and random.
To know the recommendations of ISO 5500X, that is: ISO 55000; ISO 55001; ISO 55002; ISO 55010; ISO 55011; ISO 55012; ISO 55013. Identification of value-based technologies, assessment of the economic and environmental sustainability of health technologies and development of capabilities to meet complex needs and solutions, with indexing to the Standards: ISO 14040; ISO 14041; ISO 14042; ISO 14043; ISO 14001; ISO 31000; ISO 50001.
